Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes

RAOB Philippines

Our Minor Lodges

The Minor Lodge is the cornerstone around which the Order is built. First and foremost we are all members of our own Minor Lodge. Brothers can, if they wish, belong to more than one Lodge; all Brothers must be part of a Lodge. The majority of Lodges meet weekly, though some meet fortnightly or monthly if needs dictate. Each Minor Lodge supports its members and the community at a local level.

FAQ : RAOB

A “minor lodge” is the primary, local branch of the RAOB fraternity and the only body authorized to initiate new members (called “Brothers”). It is where members meet regularly for fellowship, charity work, and to conduct the Order’s ceremonies and business. The meeting place itself is often referred to as “the city”

As of early 2026, the Manila Provincial Grand Lodge oversees at least three minor lodges in Metro Manila:
  • Philippine Carabao Lodge No. 1

: Located in Pasig, Metro Manila.

  • Manila Tamaraw Lodge No. 2

: Located in Tondo, City of Manila.

  • Katipunan Buffalo Quezon City Lodge No. 6

: Located in Quezon City, Metro Manila.

  • La Pampanga Lodge No. 3
  • Batangas Brahman Lodge No. 4
  • Water Buffalo Palawan Lodge No. 5

If you are interested in joining the RAOB Philippines, you should express interest through existing members you may know or contact the official channels of the RAOB Grand Lodge of the Philippines. You will typically be invited to a fellowship event to meet current members and ensure a good fit before proceeding with the formal application process.

he core activities revolve around:
  • Fraternity and Fellowship: Building strong bonds of brotherhood among members.
  • Charitable Works: Conducting fundraising and community service activities.
  • Ceremonies: Performing the Order’s degree ceremonies (Kangaroo/1st Degree, Primo/2nd Degree, etc.).
  • Meetings: Holding regular stated meetings to manage lodge affairs and finances.

No, the RAOB is a separate fraternal organization from Freemasonry. While both share a similar fraternal structure, symbolic language, and a focus on charity, they are distinct organizations with their own unique histories, rituals, and governing bodies (e.g., Grand Lodge of the Philippines for Masons vs. Grand Lodge of Victoria GLE for the RAOB in the Philippines)

Membership is generally open to all law-abiding males over the age of 21. Applicants must be willing to declare themselves “true and loyal supporters of the Philippine Constitution.

The RAOB itself is a male-only fraternity. However, we have a separate RAOB counterpart, which is the RAOB Glades, to be open soon here in the Philippines.

Strict rules forbid the discussion of politics, religion, or sport during lodge meetings to maintain harmony and focus on brotherhood.

Buffs Testimonials

"On my first day, I felt a mix of nervousness and excitement. I didn’t know what to expect from the rituals, but I was immediately struck by the deep respect the "Brothers" showed one another. Even though the traditions were new to me, I felt safe and truly welcomed."

"The most memorable moment was the 'Harmony' session after the formal meeting. This is where I felt the true bond of the order. One brother approached me, shook my hand, and said, 'You are no longer a stranger here; you are family.' That simple act of kindness and the feeling of instant belonging is something I will never forget."

"As a proud Buffalo, what really stuck with me was our Community Medical Mission. I saw the true spirit of our motto, "Charity." It wasn’t just about giving out medicine; I saw the unity of the "brothers" as they took care of the elderly and children who couldn't afford medical care."
